Lorraine's Never-Again List is the list I kept in my vest pocket at the register, all grown up: every aisle, what I'd buy, what I'd leave on the shelf, and what I'd get instead.
Two boxes of trash bags, every Friday, because the thin ones ripped and she doubled them. She wasn't paying a dollar fifty. She was paying twice that, for years.
By my stockroom door sat a cart of everything that came back. Can openers, almost every week. The good stuff never came back once.
The small box and the family size, same brand, same price, a foot apart. People grabbed the one at eye level.
None of it is a trick. The store puts out both. Somebody just has to tell you which is which. That was me, for eighteen years.
Four things from my book. Make your call, then see mine.

A $1.25 can opener

Pink cleaning paste, $1.50

Thin kitchen trash bags, $1.50

Glass jars with steel lids, $1.50
Four things from the same aisles, rung up two ways. On the left, the one people reached for first. On the right, the one sitting next to it.
Same $5.50. Almost twice the food.
Prices and ratings are what I saw on Dollar Tree's website in November 2026, all in chapters three and four. The cream cheese frosting isn't in every store. Prices change and every store is different, so check yours.
Miss Loretta kept hers folded inside her calculator. "Lorraine, honey, I'm too old to make the same mistake two times." I started mine that same week, on the back of a receipt.
I ran a Dollar Tree store in a small town in Georgia for eighteen years. I worked the register, the stockroom, the schedule and the shelves. I saw what sold out by Tuesday noon, what came back to my counter, and what people wished they'd never bought.
They closed my store along with a bunch of others. I wasn't about to start over at fifty, so now I tell you what I learned behind that register. I'm not here to run anybody down, not the store and not the brands. I loved that store. I just want you to keep more of your money.

It's a PDF. Right after you pay you get a download link, and an email with it. Read it on the same phone you watch my videos on, or print the pages you want.
Every month I add a page with what's new on the shelves, what I'd buy and what I'd leave. It's free, in the same place you got the book, and you get an email when it's there.
Prices and stock change, and every store is different. The prices in the book are what I saw on Dollar Tree's website when I wrote it. Check your store.
No. I talk about price, size, the package and what I saw come back to my register. That's what I know.
